This is is a collaboration between Scarabeus Aerial Theatre, writer Nicky Singer and Grafton Primary School. The project has led 62 children through aerial dance, drama, creative writing and physical exploration of the woods. The young people have unlocked a world of magic and mystery, connecting traditional and modern fairytales to the woods as an enchanted place of darkness and light, but also as a metaphor for conquering their own fears. The project has culminated in a 45 minute promenade performance in the local Queens Wood. Story: Magnus and Mabel are twins. Their mother is dangerously ill. Only one thing can save her – five flowers from the Golden Glade. But the Golden Glade is on the far side of the forest. Past a giant spider, past the hungry wolves, past the screaming BabaYaga. Will the twins have the courage for the task?
