What set Scarabeus apart for me was their commitment to rich artistic concepts and their dedication to providing a brave and encouraging environment for people from all backgrounds to experience the magic of contemporary circus.

My work aims to enrich the lives of children, young people, and families through Aerial Theatre. I graduated in Fine Art Painting & Printmaking at the Glasgow School of Art and completed an MSc in Applied Art and Social Practice at Queen Margaret University at the same time as developing an interest in physical literacy and a head for heights with aerial rope, straps, silks & trapeze.

I was raised in the Northeast of England where my passion for art, community and storytelling was inspired by a local artist whose work breathed life into the community.

My artistic practice, coupled with my passion for social justice & public health, has led me to work with a diverse range of communities in the UK and Europe outside of traditional art spaces including; residents in Glasgow care homes, families living in refugee camps in Northern France, a café in Athens, Youth groups, Primary school & Early years children. I have knowledge in the logistics and ethical challenges involved in delivering community projects and I am on a journey to create a robust infrastructure for Art to be experienced and contributed to widely.
