We’re thrilled to announce our Take Flight programme has been chosen as a Co-op Local Community Fund cause.
The Co-op Local Community Fund supports projects across the UK: every time members buy selected Co-op branded products and services, 2p for every £1 spent goes to your membership account and 2p goes to support to local causes like our Take Flight programme.
The more Co-op members that choose us as their cause, the more money we can raise for our crucial Take Flight programme. So if you’re a Co-op member, or shop at the Co-op and would become a member (it only costs £1 and you get loads of benefits) then please visit our cause page and choose us!
TAKE FLIGHT is a free aerial skills programme for people aged 13-25 that are particularly in need of support with their health and wellbeing. It provides a safe and nurturing space where young people living under challenging circumstances find a sense of belonging, develop their voice, learn new skills and connect with others.
Feedback from our young participants is that Take Flight has helped them deal with personal challenges, feel better physically and mentally with lower levels of stress and anxiety, while feeling happier, more positive and motivated in all aspects of their lives. It has enabled young people to go on to further education, employment, or start to develop a career in the arts.
WHAT YOUR SUPPORT MEANS
Your support can make all of this possible! Aerial skills and support services can be prohibitively expensive, they require highly skilled tutors and specialised equipment, help us to continue to offer this essential free programme. Your support:
£400 pays for a specialised aerial tutor for 1 month.
£500 means we can re-cover our Chinese Pole.
£600 means we can buy 4 new aerial silks.
£750 means we can buy 3 new trapezes.
£1000 supports a young person in developing their aerial skills for 6 months.
If you’re a Co-op member, or happy to become one, then please choose us as your Co-op cause!
